This session covers the responsibility of those in public service to model and encourage in others the highest standards of ethical conduct. This program will be run using the innovative LEGO Serious Play methodology to engage participants and to lead them to a deeper understanding of the values of public service, the values of the organisation and the behaviours that underpin these values. 

Session 2

BSBMGT502B Manage people performance

  • Use the DISC profiling process to recognize different behavioural styles
  • Learn to adapt your own style in a range of situations
  • Review two key communication tools - Transactional Analysis and CASE
  • Utilise and gain experience in applying these models for holding tough conversations to improve team effectiveness and to manage performance
  • Gain insight into giving useful feedback to improve performance

Session 3

  • Become familiar with some of the key theories on leadership
  • Determine how theory is applied to organisational requirements in a practice
  • Understand the generic principles of what motivates people to perform at high levels
  • Be knowledgeable of the two main theories of motivation based on Maslow and Hertzberg’s thinking

  • Look closely at the GROW model and how to apply it in real-time contexts
  • Have extensive practice at running coaching sessions and receive feedback
