What is the course content?

The program is made up of 5 modules and includes self-study as well as practical application of skills.

 

Module 1

  • What constitutes a professional approach to your work role - what perception do others have of you and how do you enhance your personal brand
  • Understand different communication styles and how to adapt to other styles
  • Use DISC profiling to work more effectively with internal and external clients
  • Revise the basics of building positive relationships - power vs poison phrases
  • Learn conflict resolution techniques to resolve challenging situations
  • Learn self-motivation techniques to remain positive and focused

 

Module 2

  • Acquire more advanced communication skills
  • Learn to be assertive in a range of situations
  • Deal effectively with 'difficult people' to create a positive environment
  • Learn how to communicate more effectively in writing:
    • How does email etiquette project a positive image?
    • What are the tips and guidelines for writing emails and other documents to ensure clarity of meaning?
    • How to format letters and other documents to ensure that messages are clearly conveyed?

What are the units required to complete the qualification?

Total number of units = 10


The 10 units are made up of 5 administration units plus 5 elective units

 

At least 1 of the elective units must be selected from the remaining administration units, the elective units listed below or from an equivalent level qualification within the BSB07 Business Services Training Package.

The remaining 4 elective units may be selected from the elective units listed below, the BSB07 Business Services Training Package or any other currently endorsed national Training Package. If not listed below, 1 unit may be selected from either a Certificate III or Diploma qualification.

 

The 1 other elective unit may be selected from the remaining elective units listed below, the BSB07 Business Services Training Package or any other currently endorsed national Training Package. Where not listed below, the unit may be selected from either a Certificate III or Diploma qualification.

How is assessment conducted and what course material do you receive?

Management Consultancy International has its unique portfolio builder that assists you to collate and present your evidence in a format that ensures that you are deemed competent.

Evidence is generated from the workplace and theory questions are also included.

 

All participants receive copies of:

  • The portfolio builder to store evidence in a user-friendly way
  • Notes and hand-outs used in the training sessions
  • Copies of the Powerpoint slides used during training
  • Additional reading and articles that are relevant to business admin professionals

Are there any pre-requisites?

There are no entry requirements for the qualification.

Pathways into the qualification

Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include:

  • after achieving the BSB30407 Certificate III in Business Administration or other relevant

qualification/s

OR

  • providing evidence of competency in the majority of units required for the BSB30407

Certificate III in Business Administration or other relevant qualification/s

OR

  • some vocational experience in providing administrative or operational support to

individuals and/or teams but without a formal business administration qualification.

 

How long will it take me to complete the qualification?

The time that you need to complete the qualification needs to include:

  • Time to acquire theory and do reading
  • Face to face training
  • Time to be assessed in the workplace
  • Time to compile your evidence to meet the requirements of the qualification.
  • The approximate time to complete the qualification is 410- 450hrs
