Module 1 Learning Design
Units

TAEDES401A Design and develop learning programs
TAEDEL401A Plan, organise and deliver group-based learning
Time Frame: 3 days
Gain insight into the following important areas for developing and designing engaging programs that lead to real changes in behavior:
- Understand client needs so that you are able to build an appropriate training program
- Ensure that you know how to co-ordinate training events and develop training needs analysis documentation
- Match nationally recognised training packages with client needs – know how to unpack training packages into qualifications and into units of competence
- Follow processes to design meaningful and engaging course material that motivates participants and creates a positive learning environment
- Know how to apply adult learning principles and various learning styles to enhance your learning design strategies
- Develop flexible session plans that are creative and include a range of techniques for improved learning
- Learn how to incorporate key principles of design and follow models of design to ensure full engagement from participants
- Contextualise training for specific needs so that participants relate to the program and improve their skills and productivity
- Be aware of OHS requirements in training

- Improve your skills and knowledge so that you are able to deliver effective sessions and work with others in the organisations to ensure positive results
- Learn how to think systemically so that you build networks for your own growth and for gaining credibility
- Understand group dynamics so that your presentations and training sessions are interactive and beneficial to participants
- Learn techniques to manage challenging participants so that all participants are included in the learning experience
- Gain skills in mentoring in the workplace so that you can work one on one with participants to guide and coach them in their career and professional development
- Adapt to workplace and on-the-job learning techniques
- Learn key presentation skills so that your style of delivery has a ‘wow’ factor
- Using Power Point effectively according to the principles of ‘slideology’
- Adjust your non-verbal behavior so that you communicate effectively with the group

- Assessment is a critical part of the learning and development cycle and is a requirement for building competence in students
- Learn the skills of planning and conducting assessments in a user-friendly way
- Understand the assessment process so that you are in a position to prepare candidates for assessment
- Know and apply the principles of assessment to real-life contexts
- Develop basic assessment tools or instruments that are needed for effective assessment
- Make reasonable adjustment in assessment to accommodate all learners
- Make assessment decisions and have the communication skills to inform candidates
- Participate in assessment validation as a vital part of the quality assurance process
- Wrap-up the program and ensure that all evidence is in place so that you achieve your TAE 40110 qualification!
